Push-in connection terminal blocks

Phoenix Contact push-in connection terminal blocks have been developed for direct conductor connection. This means that solid conductors or conductors with ferrules can be directly plugged into the terminal block without tools.

The special spring contour allows conductors with ferrules (starting from 0.34 mm2) to be easily plugged. The contact spring is automatically opened when the conductor is pushed in and thereby ensures the required pressure force against the current bar. Opening the spring – for loosening the conductors or for the connection of small cross sections from 0.14 mm2 – is done using the actuation lever. This can be actuated with all common screwdrivers.

The technical data of the Push-In Technology terminal blocks clearly surpass the requirements of the relevant standards, as in the case of all other connection methods from Phoenix Contact. The gas-tight conductor contacting also fulfills special criteria, such as the vibration test in acc. with the railway standard EN 50155.

Material properties

All metal parts of the push-in terminal blocks are made of corrosion-resistant materials. The current-carrying metals consist of high-grade copper alloys. Especially advantageous is the low temperature rise due to good electrical conductivity.

The surface is protected by lead-free, galvanic nickel or tin plating. The contact force for the push-in connection is applied by a leg spring made of high-strength chromium-nickel spring steel.

The insulating housings of the terminal blocks are made of recyclable PA 6.6. This elastic plastic with high impact strength is halogen-free and UV-resistant.

Further characteristics are the good tropical and termite resistance, high chemical resistance and the excellent aging characteristics. Polyamide 6.6 can be used at operating temperatures up to 130°C and is certified for the inflammability class V0 in accordance with UL 94.
